Connected risk is the amalgamation of political, environmental, supply chain, and credit risks which causes financial, operational and reputational loss. In this increasingly globalised world, import of basic agricultural products for consumption exposes countries to systematic risks. Minor fluctuations in weather conditions, water scarcity, price speculations and population explosion will leave a ‘ripple effect’ and unleash a series of shortfalls with a massive impact on countries.
